Two of some of the most beautiful words written within the Holy Bible, the inspired word of God, are the words “Paradise” and “Heaven.”
The word “Paradise” written in Luke 23:40-43, must be defined separately and not compared to the place called “Paradise” in the scriptural passages (2 Corinthians 12:1-10 and Revelation 2:1-11), those two scriptural passages are places that are written with a place which is in the paradise of God (Revelation 2:7) or a high heaven (Deuteronomy 10:14, 1 Kings 8:27, Nehemiah 9:6, Psalm 148:4-6, Psalm 113:4-6, Isaiah 57:15, 2 Corinthians 12:2, Ephesians 4:10, Hebrews 4:14).
The first time that Paradise was spoken was when Jesus our Lord was hanging on the on the cross and one of the criminals spoke out against the other criminal in.
Luke 23:40-41
40 But the other rebuked him, saying, “Do you not fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? 41 And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.”
Then the criminal spoke to Jesus our Lord and said in Luke 23:42
42 And he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”
The criminal was repented of his deeds and feared God, and Jesus pardoned him with these words spoken in Luke 23:43
43 And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
Luke 13:22-30
22He went on his way through towns and villages, teaching and journeying toward Jerusalem. 23 And someone said to him, “Lord, will those who are saved be few?” And he said to them, 24“Strive to enter through the narrow door. For many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able. 25 When once the master of the house has risen and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, open to us,’ then he will answer you, ‘I do not know where you come from.’ 26 Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’ 27 But he will say, ‘I tell you, I do not know where you come from. Depart from me, all you workers of evil!’ 28 In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God but you yourselves cast out. 29 And people will come from east and west, and from north and south, and recline at table in the kingdom of God. 30 And behold, some are last who will be first, and some are first who will be last.”
The word “Paradise” written in Luke 23:40-43, our Lord Jesus tells us that he has not ascended to His Father in the scriptural passage (John 20:11-18) when he first was resurrected and appeared to Mary Magdalene. It wasn’t until Jesus our Lord returned from being sent from the Father in John 20:19-31 that he had ascended to heaven.
“Paradise” compared to in the next scriptural passage would be the side of Abraham a place of comfort and Hades would be the place of torment, anguish and in a flame of fire.
Luke 16:19-31
19 “There was a rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and who feasted sumptuously every day. 20 And at his gate was laid a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, 21 who desired to be fed with what fell from the rich man’s table. Moreover, even the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried, 23 and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side., 24 And he called out, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame.’ 25 But Abraham said, ‘Child, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and Lazarus in like manner bad things; but now he is comforted here, and you are in anguish. 26 And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, in order that those who would pass from here to you may not be able, and none may cross from there to us.’ 27 And he said, ‘Then I beg you, father, to send him to my father’s house— 28 for I have five brothers—so that he may warn them, lest they also come into this place of torment.’ 29 But Abraham said, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.’ 30 And he said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’ 31 He said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be convinced if someone should rise from the dead.’”

3772 ouranós – heaven (singular), and nearly as often used in the plural ("heavens"). "The singular and plural have distinct overtones and therefore should be distinguished in translation (though unfortunately they rarely are)" (G. Archer)
There is just but one way there and that is through the Son of God our Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 25:31-46, Luke 23:43, John 14:6). He has been given all authority in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18-20), and there are no other doctrines, commands, or rules (Matthew 15:3, Matthew 15:9, Colossians 2:20-22, Titus 1:14, 1 John 2:4) that have been created by man no matter how sincere or compassionate they might sound they will not bring you home to God our Father, the Son of God and the Holy Spirit into the new heavens and new earth (Isaiah 65:17, 2 Peter 3:10-13, Revelation 21:1-6).
There are false beliefs and false teachings that are in these self-made religions that are called denominational churches, independent, community or city churches, any mosques, any Jewish synagogues, Jewish temples, and any Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism temples, any Zoroastrianism (whose temples are sometimes called Agiary), the Baha'i Faith (which are often simply referred to as Baha'i House of Worship), Taoism (which are sometimes called Daoguan), Shinto (which are sometimes called Jinja), Confucianism (which are sometimes called the Temple of Confucius), and ancient religions such as the Ancient Egyptian religion, or any Pagan places of their rituals, any palaces, any ministries, and individuals preaching that they can guide you to Paradise or Heaven, they cannot!
The truth is that they are blind guides guiding you into condemnation in to eternal torment (Psalms 32:5, Psalms 103:1-5, Isaiah 9:14-16, Matthew 15:10-14, Matthew 5:32,19:9, Matthew 23:1-9, Mark 9:47-48, John 14:6, Romans 14:11, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, Ephesians 2:1-3, Ephesians 4:22, Colossians 3:5-10, Titus 3:1-3, 2 Peter 2:1-3, Revelation 21:8,22:12-16) there is only one that can destroy both soul and body in fear him (Matthew 10:26-28).
There is only one true church (the body) of the Lord Christ Jesus (John 14:6, Romans 16:16, Colossians 1:17-20) and that church is made up of the faithful baptized believers that seek the eternal kingdom of God and Christ (Acts 8:12, Acts 28:31, Ephesians 5:5, Colossians 1:13-15, 2 Timothy 4:1, 2 Peter 1:3-11, Revelation 11:15, Revelation 12:10).
These are some of the scriptural references to the commandments and the teachings from God’s Son our Lord Jesus Christ that we need to learn and obey (Matthew 7:24-27, Matthew 16:18, Matthew 11:28-30, Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 16:15-16, John 15:1-12, Hebrews 1:1-14) and the Lord’s Apostles (Acts 1:1-8, Acts 2:42, Romans 1:1-6), and the Hebrews writer (Hebrews 3:12-14, Hebrews 10:19-25 NASB), and the Lord’s brothers James and Jude (Matthew 13:55 NASB, 1 Corinthians 9:5, James 1:1, Jude 1:1), and the former teachings and examples of the Old Testament revealed to us by the men of God as they were moved by the Holy Spirit as written in the inspired word of God (Romans 4:1-5:1 NASB, Romans 15:4-6, 1 Corinthians 10:1-14 NASB, 2 Timothy 3:16 NASB, Hebrews 6:10-19, 2 Peter 1:19-21). and to live a life being faithful and obedient until death (Matthew 16:26, Luke 8:15, Luke 21:19, Romans 5:1-5, Romans 8:18-25, Hebrews 10:35-39, Hebrews 12:1-17 ASV, James 1:3-4, James 5:10-11, 1 Peter 2:19-25, 1 Peter 3:14-17 KJV, Revelation 2:10-11,3:10-11) for our salvation.
God our Father through His Son and the Holy Spirit have given us their word of truth in the written inspired word of God (John 8:31-32, John 1:14-17, John 14:6, John 17:17, 2 Corinthians 5:1, 2 Corinthians 12:3-4, Ephesians 1:13, 2 Timothy 3:16 NASB, 1 John 5:20) for us to be able to go to paradise and then unto heaven (Revelation 2:7 ASV).
These are just but some of the scriptural verses and passages that references are written so we can understand what Paradise and Heaven mean and how to get there (Genesis 1:1, Matthew 3:2, Matthew 3:16-17, Matthew 5:3-16, Matthew 6:19-24, Luke 23:39-43, John 3:3-7, John 3:10-21, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26, 2 Corinthians 4:13-18, 2 Corinthians 5:1, 2 Corinthians 5:6-11, Ephesians 4:1-7, Hebrews 10:35-39, Hebrews 11:1-3, Hebrews 12:18-24, Revelation 2:7 ASV, 2 Peter 1:3-11, Revelation 2:10-11, Revelation 5:5-14).
Revelation 21:1-5
1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. 2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. 4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” 5 And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
Conclusion
These are just but some of scriptural verses and passages that our Lord has given us that if we follow His word, being humble, being faithful, loving, kind, compassionate, forgiving, and obedient as the children of God (Romans 5:1-11, Galatians 5:16-6:10, Ephesians 4:17-5:21, James 1:2:12, 2 Peter 3:10-18) we will live eternally with God our Father, Our Lord Christ Jesus, the Holy Spirit and all the blessed in the new heavens and new earth (Isaiah 65:17-18, Hebrews 12:18-24, Revelation 21:1-8).
