Our Lord Jesus Christ has paid the ultimate price for us to have peace with God the Father and the Holy Spirit through His sacrifice. We need to honor our Lord Jesus Christ just as we honor the Father, by honoring the words our Lord Jesus Christ spoke so that we can abide in God the Father, Jesus our Lord and Christ, and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:18-20, Luke 9:28-35, John 8:31, John 5:19-24, John 12:26, John 14:21-23, John 15:1-17, Acts 2:42, 1 Thessalonians 4:1-4, Titus 2:1-10, 1 John 2:3-4, 1 John 2:23-25, 2 John 1:9).
We need to grow in their love, grace, and bear fruit, and be the salt of the earth and the light of our Lord Christ Jesus in the world for our brethren, our loved ones, our friends, and people that we meet. (Matthew 5:13-14, John 13:34-35, Galatians 5:22-23, Ephesians 4:11-16, Titus 2:11-14, 1 Peter 4:7-11, 2 Peter 1:2-11, 2 Peter 3:18, 1 John 3:11-24).
We need to try to share with them the grace that we obtained access by faith that God is offering through our Lord Jesus Christ through the gospel (Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 16:15-16, John 1:14-18, Acts 15:6-11, Acts 20:32, Romans 5:2, 2 Corinthians 4:15, Ephesians 2:1-10, Ephesians 3:11-12, Ephesians 4:7, 1 Peter 4:7-11).
John 15:1-15
1 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. 7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples. 9 As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. 10 If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. 11 These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full. 12 “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command you. 15 No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.
These are just but some of the scriptural verses and passages that speak about abiding and learning from our Lord and the things we need to understand (Psalms 91:1-2, Matthew 7:24-29, Matthew 11:28-30, John 6:53-57, John 3:1-7, John 8:31, John 14:16-21 NASB, Luke 8:15, Luke 10:38-42, Romans 8:9-10, 2 Corinthians 13:5-14, 2 Peter 1:1-21 NASB, Galatians 5:22-26, Ephesians 3:7-21, Ephesians 5:6-10, Philippians 1:8-11, Philippians 3:7-19 NASB, Colossians 1:3-14, Colossians 1:24-29, Colossians 2:6, Colossians 3:1-17, 1 Peter 3:14-17 ASV, 2 Peter 1:1-21 NASB, 1 John 2:1-7, 1 John 2:18-29, Jude 1:20-21).
2 John 1:8-11
8 Watch yourselves, so that you may not lose what we have worked for, but may win a full reward. 9 Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house or give him any greeting, 11 for whoever greets him takes part in his wicked works.
Conclusion
There are many things for us to learn and to understand as we abide in our Lord's words and seek to be good and faithful servants (Matthew 7:24-27, Matthew 11:28-30, Matthew 25:21, John 12:26). We need to be devoted to our Lord Jesus Christ in study and prayer (Matthew 21:12-13, Acts 1:14, Acts 2:42, Acts 6:4, Romans 12:12 NASB, Romans 15:30, 1 Corinthians 7:1-5, Ephesians 1:16, Ephesians 6:10-18, Philippians 4:5-6 ASV, Colossians 4:2 NASB, 1 Timothy 2:1-4 KJV, James 5:17) seeking the wisdom, understanding, insight and discernment (Proverbs 9:10, Matthew 11:28-30, Luke 10:21-24, 1 Corinthians 1:20-30, Ephesians 1:6-14, Ephesians 4:11-16, Ephesians 5:10, Philippians 1:8-11, Colossians 3:1-4, Hebrews 1:1-5, James 1:17, James 3:13-18)
that comes from God as well as doing His will (Matthew 7:21, Matthew 12:50, Matthew 17:5, Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 16:15-16, Hebrews 1:1-5) as we seek His guidance to help us to grow. To be the children of God, we need to strive to be the light of our Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 5:14-16, Matthew 6:22-24, Luke 11:33-36, John 8:12, John 12:46, Ephesians 5:8-10 NASB, Philippians 2:1-16, 1 John 1:5-10) carrying the message of the gospel by our words and deeds (Acts 6:4, Romans 15:18, Colossians 3:13-17, 1 John 2:1-6, 1 Peter 2:9-25).
If anyone who goes ahead does not abide in the doctrine of Lord Jesus Christ does not have God the Father, and If anyone who does not abide in Lord Jesus Christ they are thrown away and cast into the fire and burned (Matthew 13:38-40, Matthew 28:20, Acts 2:42, John 15:4-10, 1 John 2:23-25, 2 John 1:9-11).
